I thought I'd share this one. I haven't purchased one myself, but the reviews from actual customers say it's top notch. A guy by the name of Craig Jackson came up with a replaceable carbide cutter and stuck it on the end of a shaft. This tool removes some serious wood, and quickly. He has since added to the line with the Ci2, it being a 3/8" size. On the bottom of the page is a video showing it in action. http://www.easywoodtools.com/index.htm He offers a straight edge cutter, and two with curved radius, 2" and 4".

I also see that Craft Supplies USA is selling it as well. http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/store/New_Products___Easy_Rougher___easy_rougher?Args

I would like to get one of those, but I don't really do enough big work to need one yet. Maybe when I get a new lathe I will get one. lol! lol!

I remember a thread about that on Woodnet not too long ago. I think it got mixed reviews. More good than bad. I think it was either they loved it, or were lukewarm. If you are interested I could do a search and PM you the link.

Doug, I think it comes down to the user, and what they are trying to achieve with it. All I know is it hogs some wood.
